Casa Marena is a traditional Canarian country house of approx. 80 m², set on a finca of around 4,000 m² with fruit trees and old vines. The holiday home lies in a quiet, secluded spot on the edge of Puntagorda in the north-west of La Palma (Canary Islands) and sleeps up to 4 people – ideal for hikers, couples and small families looking for nature, peace and sweeping views over the Atlantic.

Living room
The typical features of a traditional old Canarian country house really come into their own here. The exposed teak ceiling and other old architectural details give the room its special character. Free Wi-Fi keeps you connected to the world, and all rooms of Casa Marena can of course be heated. Stereo, satellite TV, comfortable sofa, rocking chair.
Kitchen
The kitchen opens directly onto the terrace behind the house. Enjoy the sunrise under a palm tree with an unobstructed view of the Atlantic, over the village and up to the Roque de los Muchachos (2,426 m). In winter, relax in the evening with a glass of wine by our wood stove. Kitchenette with oven and 4-ring hob, dishwasher, kettle, coffee maker, toaster, fridge with freezer compartment, washing machine, seating for 4, reading corner and wood-burning stove.
Bedrooms
One bedroom has a 2 x 2 m double bed, the second a 1.60 x 2 m bed. The house sleeps a maximum of 4 people.
Bathrooms
The bathroom has a shower, WC, heated towel rail and hairdryer. The second bathroom features a whirlpool tub and spa bath.
Whirlpool
Unwind in the house's own whirlpool and enjoy the soothing warmth with a glass of wine.

Location & outdoor areas
Casa Marena stands on its own on the edge of Puntagorda in the north-west of La Palma, with no immediate neighbours. The village shops are about a 10-minute walk away, and Puntagorda has everything you need for daily life.
At weekends the market in Puntagorda is open: Saturdays 3–7 pm and Sundays 11 am–3 pm. It sells farm produce and handicrafts from the island.

Garden furniture and loungers on the terraces in front of and behind the house – facing east with sea and mountain views and the sunrise over the Roque de los Muchachos, and facing west under the vines for the sunset – offer sun or shade at any time of day. The surrounding garden has further open spaces.

Yes. All rooms can be heated, and a wood stove makes for cosy evenings – we do not charge extra for heating. The house’s own whirlpool is also there for you to relax in.
What is there to do in the area?
La Palma is known as the hiking island: the Caldera de Taburiente National Park and the observatory on the Roque de los Muchachos are each about an hour away.
